Ralph McQuarrie's illustrations contributed to the overall visual development of Boba Fett in the early stages of Star Wars development, even though he wasn't solely responsible for the character's design. He went on and created concept art for many iconic characters, including Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, and various aliens and creatures. His artwork helped define the look and feel of the Star Wars universe.
